MATERIAL & CRAFT
At atote, we make one promise with every product: fewer things, better things. Our beauty case is not a seasonal accessory. It is an object you will reach for every single trip, for years to come.
Genuine epsom leather
THE LEATHER
Epsom is one of the most demanding leathers to work with — and one of the most rewarding to own. Its fine, cross-hatched grain is pressed directly into the hide, giving it an exceptional resistance to scratches, moisture, and daily wear. Where softer leathers scuff and crease, epsom holds its structure and its surface. It is the leather chosen for the most uncompromising objects in the world.
Every atote piece is made from full genuine epsom leather. No shortcuts, no composites. What you hold is the real thing.
Hazel — our only colour (for now)
THE SIGNATURE
A warm meeting point between grey and beige. Neutral enough to travel with everything. Distinct enough to be immediately atote.
We chose Hazel not because it was safe, but because it was right. It photographs beautifully in natural light. It pairs with linen, with marble, with a dreamy hotel bathroom. It does not fight for attention — it simply belongs wherever it lands.
The texture disperses impact, keeping the surface clean through years of use.
Epsom's tight grain structure repels water and humidity better than most smooth leathers.
Holds its structure whether full or empty, packed tight or lightly used.
No peeling, no cracking. Epsom deepens subtly over time — it becomes more itself, not less.
How to look after it
CARE
Epsom leather is forgiving by nature. It asks very little of you.
Epsom leather is a living material. Prolonged pressure from a sharp or hard object may leave a temporary mark on the surface — this is not damage, it is the leather responding to contact. In most cases, the mark will naturally disappear on its own. If you'd like to speed the process, gently apply light warmth using a hairdryer at a distance and smooth with a soft cloth.
We believe the most sustainable thing a product can be is genuinely well-made. Carfully built so that you never need to replace it.
